For greater thrills, guests can visit Hawksnest Ziplines, and strap in and ride three miles, with two of the nine cables reaching over 2,000 feet above the trees and creeks. A quick drive to downtown Boone, guests will find cafes, the Mast General Store, and antique shopping. Students of the nearby Appalachian State University can be seen roaming off-campus, studying at one of the numerous coffee shops.
