About this place
This treehouse is a 230 sq. ft. sacred space that floats between earth and sky about 15 feet off above the ground. It is offered to those interested in using the property and its surrounding natural spaces for deeply meditative and reflective stays. For guests interested primarily in rest and contemplative experiences, we ask that you apply by answering the question, " What is it my heart longs to experience here?”.
Guests can also take advantage of the comfortable leather chairs, dining table, and a full kitchenette with a variety of pans and utensils inside for use. The bathroom comes with a composting toilet, however, the main house just three minutes walk away comes with a walk-in shower, and flushing toilet, and a sink. The treehouse itself has no running water but fresh spring water is supplied by hosts to drink and wash up with. It is important to remember that all food and cooking is strictly vegetarian and no garlic or onions are to be used so that the next set of guests can enjoy the treehouse as well. No meat is permitted on the property.

The treehouse features a beautiful living area with wood stove and leather club chairs, a dining table, fully stocked kitchenette. IT HAS NO RUNNING WATER, but glorious spring water is supplied for drinking, washing dishes and cleaning hands. The treehouse bathroom has a composting toilet and there is a full bathroom available in the main house exclusively for your use (about a three minute walk - try a walking meditation back and forth each day!). It features a beautiful walk-in shower and flushing toilet and sink with hot and cold water. You can restock up on water there, or walk about 1 minute from the treehouse to where the spring overflows into the creek and fill up there. It also features a large front deck with fabulous views of the mountains.
The bedroom is located in a loft above the kitchen area. It features a queen size memory foam mattress (like a cloud), with all natural bedding. It is accessed by a 9-foot ladder. If you have physical limitations, using the ladder might prove difficult for you, please let us know.
You will have complete access to the entire treehouse plus three acres of forest and pasture that feels like a park. There are more than 15 more acres of woodland and lowland along the river. There is about 700 feet of riverfront you can swim and walk along, a rushing stream that is so clean you can drink from it, and the option to pet two horses in our neighbor's pasture. There is a parking space very near by that is accessed up a mountainous gravel road (we can also drive you up). While you will feel you are all on your own, a brief three minute walk will bring you to our main house. There is also access to a Native American medicine wheel ( we can teach you how to access it).
Just up the road about ten minutes are miles and miles of hiking trails and many waterfalls. You will be provided with a hiking map and a book on waterfalls in the area for your use during your stay. We are a short 20-minute drive from restaurants and amenities in Waynesville, NC as well as 40 minutes from Asheville and the many things it has to offer.
NO DOGS, please. We have a hunting dog, Winston (rescue) who is human friendly but not dog friendly. Also, no children.
Please ensure to read the description before requesting to book. Upon request, please provide a small description of why you are reserving and a little information about yourself.
Be kind to the environment and take care of the surroundings.
