Flores

A department based in central Uruguay, travelers visiting the region of Flores will find a number of interesting activities to do. For one, you can visit Palace Cave, a protected area home to a cave formed naturally by erosion. Coincidentally, the cave ended up being shaped like a palace, hence its name. It’s definitely one of the cooler looking places you’ll see in Uruguay. There’s also the Zoo of the Future. The only one of its kind in Uruguay, the park is home to 13 iron sculptures shaped like cosmic figures, including the sun, the moon, and the stars. Created by the artist Martin Arregui, the park expresses the dangers of humans gaining too much power over the planet. A unique experience awaits in the department of Flores, so be sure to check out these destinations when there.
