About this place

This peaceful log cabin rental is located near Dungog in New South Wales, Australia, and is only an hour and 30 minutes from Newcastle—the perfect hideaway from which guests can wake up to clean, sweet forest air, filled with birdsong and the sounds of native animals roaming. Guests will be able to observe the wildlife from the comfort of the wrap-around veranda.

The cabin is well appointed with all the appliances and technology guests will need to make their stay easy and comfortable. During the colder weather, a slow combustion wood heater keeps your cabin snug overnight, and nice and warm to return to. This particular cabin is robust and rustic on the exterior and a mix of quaint and contemporary inside and can accommodate five guests. It is set on the 250-acre property bursting with the lush foliage of a temperate rainforest. Featuring hardwood floors, wood-paneled walls, and exposed beams, the cabin's large arrays of windows and wrap-around veranda provide plenty of natural light and immersive views of its flora-filled surroundings.

There are three bedrooms, two of which have a queen-size bed and the third with a king single bed. Crisp cotton sheets, fluffed pillows, snuggly warm doonas, and thick blankets are all supplied to ensure guests' stay is as hassle-free as possible. Downstairs with the bedrooms, there is a comfy three-seater sofa and the slow combustion fireplace—the best place to lay reading a book after a day of exploring the walking trails. Firewood for the fireplace is provided at no extra cost and will be split, seasoned, and stacked right near the cabin for convenience.

The cabin's bathroom sports spa-like double rainfall showerheads, a floating vanity, and toilet. Thick, absorbent towels, face washers, hand towel, and foot mat are all supplied. In the lounge room, guests can relax on two comfortable sofas, set their cup of tea on the coffee table, and catch a sighting or two of the native wildlife through any of the large windows covering the cabin. Alternatively, they can turn on the movie they've been waiting to watch on the wall-mounted SmarTV with a DVD player. (and DVD player). There is also a small Bluetooth speaker in the TV cabinet for guests to make use of.

The cabin's kitchen is brand new and built with functionality in mind. It boasts an electric oven, a gas stove, an overhead range, two under-bench fridges, a dishwasher, a microwave, a Nespresso coffee machine, all necessary cookware and tableware.

Guests should note that there is limited cell phone service, but Wi-Fi is available to all guests. The property's location, however, does affect the connection speed and quality.

Inside the property, guests will find amenities such as a fully-equipped kitchen, a television with a DVD player, heating, a fireplace, and ironing equipment. Outside, they will find a balcony, a patio, and a barbecue grill.

Internet access is not available, and there is limited cell phone service, so guests will be able to truly disconnect from the hustle and bustle of modern life and reconnect with nature.

We are watching and acting on government advice and, as is usual, going above and beyond to ensure you escape to a cabin that is spick and span and that exceeds every recommended safety standard. For your peace of mind, understand that we always have and are continuing to thoroughly disinfect our cabins between guest visits using hospital-grade disinfectants. Our linens and towels are washed using hospital-grade antibacterial detergents. All surfaces and soft furnishings are cleaned and disinfected every time.
