This property is located in Main Creek, New South Wales, where it is situated at the foot of the Barrington Tops on a lush, 250-acre property full of temperate native rainforest overlooking the fern gullies of Carawirry Creek.
The property is bordered by Chichester State Forest and the Black Bulga State Conservation Area, and it is less than half an hour from the southeastern corner of Barrington Tops National Park, where guests will find the Jerusalem Creek Track.
The conservation area provides habitats for an abundance of wildlife living amid Australian red cedar, native tamarins, rose maple, and wet sclerophyll eucalyptus forests. A variety of marsupials call the conservation area home, including eastern grey kangaroos, greater gliders, koalas, and parma wallabies. Other local fauna includes tiger quolls, masked owls, glossy black cockatoos, rufous bettongs, potaroos, barred frogs, Parma wallabies, and superb lyrebirds.
While the site feels remote and provides guests with plenty of seclusion in an immersive natural setting, it is also only a 20-minute drive from the charming town of Dungog, where guests will find shops, cafes, pubs, a microbrewery, antique stores, an art gallery, and supermarket, along with the James Theatre, which is the oldest continuously running movie theater in Australia. The site is about one hour from Newcastle Airport.

The latter is bordered by Chichester State Forest, where guests also can take a walk on the Allyn River Rainforest Walking Track. At the forest's Allyn River Rest Area, guests will also find an area for four-wheel driving, and they can go paddling on the Allyn River itself and swimming at the Ladies Well swimming hole. Other nearby swimming holes include Cascades Pool and Carowirry Pool.
At Barrington Tops National Park, guests will find many more trails for walking and hiking, such as the Jerusalem Creek Track, the Antarctic Beech Forest walking track, the Gloucester Tops circuit, the Polblue Swamp track, the Blue Gum loop trail, and the Aeroplane Hill walking track. Your check-in time is from 3pm. Check-out is by 10am.
Pls be punctual with your check-out and pls don't arrive before your scheduled arrival time, unless prearranged with us.
A later check in, after 3pm, is no trouble as Carawirry operates via self check in.
Late check out without prior arrangement with management will incur a fee of $50 for each 15mins the guest remains in the cabin after the check out time of 10am. This fee will be deducted from the Bond.
PLEASE NOTE
All cabins have open fires outside and fireplaces inside. They are to be operated at user’s responsibility and require Adult supervision at all times.
All cabins have deep indoor and/or outdoor baths, they are to be operated at user’s responsibility and require Adult supervision at all times.

NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS
All accommodation must be used for private/residential use only and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking confirmation. No functions or parties may be conducted at the property under any circumstances without management consent. Refer to management for specific Event package's Terms and Conditions.
Exceeding the stated number of guests without informing management and gaining approval prior to arrival will result in a termination of the booking and you being required to vacate the property immediately without a refund.
Charges for additional guests will be debited from the Bond. If the amount owing is above the amount held you hereby accept this liability.
If complaints are received and you are found not to have been respectful of other guests or our neighbours you will be required to vacate the premises with no further notice or refund.
NOISE
Please be respectful to other guests on the property and our neighbours at all times and keep noise to a minimum, so everyone can enjoy their stay. We have a property-wide noise curfew from 9 pm to 9 am. You'd be surprised how far noise travels in the forest. Keep the good times rolling - but turn off the loud music by 9 pm pls.
CLEANING
All accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. A professional cleaning will be carried out before and after your stay and a cabin inventory of items performed. If a cabin is found to be left in an unreasonable state at check out, excess cleaning charges may be involved. This will be determined on a case-to-case basis and a member of our team will contact the guest to discuss and advise of the excess cleaning. Please leave the property in a neat and tidy state by following the departure checklist found in the cabin upon arrival.
VISITORS
Tenants and/or visitors shall not park vehicles on the premises, except in specific designated areas. No vehicle is to drive or park on any grassed areas. Pls drive only on the gravel road and parking areas. The tenants are responsible for the behaviour and actions of their visitors whilst on the premises. Children are welcome but are the responsibility of parents or carers.
PETS
Unfortunately, we can not accommodate pets on the property. If you are found to have brought a pet onto the property you will be required to vacate the premises immediately with no further notice or refund.
DAMAGE
Whilst you are in occupation, you are fully responsible for all breakages and damage caused to the property, its furniture, fittings, or any consequent loss suffered by Carawirry Forest Escape Management. Any such breakages, damage or loss must be reported immediately and paid for prior to departure. Failure to comply with this condition will result in a debit of any such costs and expenses from the Bond.
SMOKING
There is no smoking inside any of the Properties. If there is evidence of such including a smoke odour you will be charged a fee of $400 to cover the cleaning of curtains and air-conditioning sterilisation. This will be debited from the Bond.
