- Zincalumbar/Wreck Rock Café in Baffle Creek is a family-run restaurant and tavern which serves homemade meals from burgers to pizzas, pies, cold beer, and coffee. They also do takeaway and have their own bottle shop.
- The Rustic Farmhouse Cafe is at Oyster Creek (15 min drive) and is a lovely rustic café on a farm, with fresh produce, toasties, coffee and sandwiches. The owner (Liz) is a fantastic hostess and makes the most delicious cakes and pastries. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. The café is open 9AM- 4PM from Sat to Tues.
- Deepwater National Park is a coastal national park dedicated to the preservation of dunes, coastal heaths, and other natural wonders. Its deserted beaches are a 15 min drive from Ohana Hut, and you can access the first one (Wreck Rock) without a 4WD. You'll need a 4WD if you want to enjoy the beautiful drive through the park to Agnes Water and check out the other beautiful beaches.
- Baffle Creek is one of Queensland's few remaining undisturbed coastal rivers and is world-renowned for its fishing. The extensive estuary and tributaries of the Baffle Creek River System provide ample fishing, boating and canoeing opportunities.
- Rules Beach is the only beach left on the Discovery Coast on which you can legally drive a 4wd vehicle without a beach permit, and is the way to reach the mouth of Broadwater creek. It is also a dog-friendly beach and is 20 min from Ohana Hut.
- The towns of Agnes Water/1770 are beautiful little seaside towns with beaches great for surfing, snorkeling, and other water sports. There you'll also find restaurants/cafes and a little shopping centre where you can stock up on essentials and groceries.
- The Paperbark Forest Boardwalk in Agnes is designed with stepping stones and boardwalk planks to help visitors wind their way through the wetlands. It is a short 20-minute walk through some beautiful wetland scenery.
