About this place
This enchanting eco-friendly South Australia glamping retreat overlooking the one-of-a-kind Bumbunga Lake is perfect for a true nature holiday. Guests can stay in comfort in a uniquely crafted, custom-built, eco-friendly tiny house situated directly across from South Australia’s most accessible and iconic pink lake - Lake Bumbunga, only one and a half hours’ drive from Adelaide. It is the only accommodation in the vicinity.
The concept of this tiny house is a self-contained, off-the-grid accommodation facility, ensuring that the guest’s stay is gentle on the planet and climate-friendly. Electricity is off-the-grid, being generated through solar panels on the roof and then stored in a 5KW battery. The tiny house uses rainwater collected on the roof and stored in a 5,000-litre tank and mains water (due to low rainfall). Shower greywater is filtered and then waters a plant bed. Mains electricity is also connected as a backup as required.
The tiny house sleeps four people on four authentic Japanese futons in two loft bedrooms. The kitchen facilities include a gas stovetop, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee machine, a toaster, a rice cooker, a kettle, soybean milk maker, and basic cooking utensils. Bathroom facilities consist of a rain & hand-held shower, a vanity-basin, a mirror, towels, a hairdryer, and a odourless bio-composting toilet.
The hosts provide a number of great facilities to ensure a very comfortable stay including reverse-cycle air conditioning, a Bluetooth music speaker, free Wi-Fi, board games, and karaoke microphones.
The accommodation is self-catering - however directly adjacent is a café that is open for breakfast and lunch Wednesday-Sunday and dinner can also be pre-ordered from the café and placed in the fridge prior to your arrival.
