You have the choice of many secluded beaches. Close by we have Steels beach (north) and Mariposa and Four Mile (south) beaches. You seldom see footprints on both. The Winfred Curtis Scamander Reserve is 5mins north provides an example of a variety of ecosystems similar to that experienced by the original inhabitants the Palawa aboriginals. The acclaimed botanist Dr Winifred Curtis described it as one of the last examples of dry sclerophyll bushland still in its original condition since European settlement. There are many easy tracks that explore the lagoon, bush, lookouts and one that takes you to the beach. Famous tourist attractions nearby include Freycinet National Park (e.g. Coles Bay), Bay of Fires, Derby and St Helens Mountain bike tracks, The Blue Tier (Bushwalking).
