For a unique stay on a secluded private habitat reserve, this unique tipi rental in the Huon Valley of Tasmania, Australia, is just the place. Inside the tipi, there is a sofa bed that converts into a double bed with a 10-centimetre foam mattress, sheets, pillows, a doona, and an extra blanket. The sofa bed is provided in bookings for 1 or 2 people. A fold-away extra single foam mattress with bedding can be provided for the floor if guests book 3 people.

The simple and cozy interior of the tipi features solid timber flooring and carpet, a coffee table, 12-volt solar electricity for the lights and CD player, a linen rack, and a wood-fired heater. Outside, guests will find a small covered deck, where they can kick back and enjoy the seclusion of the natural bushland that surrounds the tipi.

Shared facilities include the showers and toilets and the camp kitchen. The bathroom facilities are less than a minute's walk from the tipi, and there is even an outdoor bathtub for two, should guests feel so inclined. The outdoor tub can be booked for a couple of hours at a time once guests are on-site; it cannot be booked in advance. Guests can self cater in the camp kitchen, which comes equipped with cutlery, crockery, utensils, pots, and a full-size oven. There is, however, no refrigerator, so guests must bring a cooler.

Guests should note this is a nature experience, with wildlife roaming free without cages. Glampers who stay here will be in close contact with animals of all sorts.

Guests can enjoy access to a range of eco-friendly facilities during a stay here. This includes carbon neutral wood heating, natural water, and composting toilets. Electricity is 12-volt solar for the lights and CD player, plus USB for charging small devices. For guests who need a 240-volt connection to charge small appliances, they can do at the reception office.

Additional info

Please note that pricing shown here includes one bed for every two people. If guests require extra beds, please advise the hosts in the message thread, so they can adjust the price.

The site is accessible to all types of vehicles with care; however, Toyota Tarago front-wheel-drive vans with heavy loads are known to be problematic for some drivers. Guests should call to discuss bringing vehicles with trailers, as only some types of vehicles can tow a trailer up this steep incline.

The property's wildlife is accustomed to living in the security of the private nature reserve. As such, many creatures have little understanding of traffic dangers. Guests are asked to drive at 20 kilometers or less, especially at night.
