Lovely Columbia Valley Accommodation at a Dogsled Retreat
Tiny house in Golden, British Columbia
2 guests • 1 bedroom • 1 bed • 1 bathroom
This gorgeous Columbia Valley accommodation is ideal for off-grid getaways in British Columbia. Vacations here will be an unforgettable experience and the rental comes with access to 180 acres of epic trails, picnic areas, and stunning views of the rugged wilderness.
The BC cabin is totally off-grid and boasts walk-in access only (a five-minute walk). Light is from candles and propane lamps, water is gravity-fed, and the bathroom is an outhouse adding to the rustic vibe of this remote getaway. The picnic area, outhouse, private cook fire-area, and an interpretative walking trail (the dogsled trail in winter) are close by for guests' convenience. The Canada cabin also comes with a private screened-in gazebo for mosquito protection.
Guests should know that this British Columbia retreat has no electricity and cooking is done on a propane stove in the kitchen and all kitchenware and amenities are provided. As all the units are off-grid, this means that the fridge provided in the cabin is not plugged into electricity. If guests wish to store food and drink in a cool place during their stay in BC, the hosts recommend that they bring ice with them to use in the fridge along with their food.
The toilet is located in a separate outhouse and is shared with other guests (two other small cabins) staying at the property. The hosts have solar showers available if needed by the water station next to the parking lot.
Holidays in British Columbia here also mean that guests will be some spectacular areas of natural beauty such as Banff National Park and Glacier National Park where the possibilities for outdoor recreation are practically endless.

Additional info
The mosquitos can be bad in this area as the BC retreat is located within the valley of one of the largest wetlands in North America so guests should bring bug spray.
The hosts have several bears pass through the land each year, but have never had any issues with them. The hosts acknowledge, and love, that they share their space with them. Guests should be respectful and not feed or leave any garbage anywhere for them to eat! Guests should also remove trash with them when they leave, or, if the need be, leave all garbage within the bags provided inside the rental when they depart. Bears have the best noses and will be attracted to trash left outside.
