Abandoned railway lines and provincial park trails offer spectacular hiking and walking paths for a rigorous workout or quiet contemplation. Kayaking on Slocan Lake is a popular activity while cycling the family-friendly Galena Trail or Slocan Valley Trail is a great way to discover two of the most scenic routes in the Kootenay region.
A short two hours drive to the Salmo River Valley will allow glampers to hike along the Salmo River that meanders along the West Kootenay region, fishing is also a popular activity. In the wintertime, the area offers cross-country skiing at Salmo Ski Hill or Red Mountain Ski Resort.
