This small owner-built off-the-grid cabin rental near the Heart of 1000 Islands, Gananoque, Ontario, is nestled on 127 acres of secluded, privately owned land. The Gananoque cabin has an open floor plan with large windows and three skylights, allowing in natural light throughout the daytime. The queen-size bed in the main loft is reached by a steep stair-ladder. Above the sleeping area is a skylight for guests to stargaze from the comfort of their bed.

There is an outhouse toilet facility and fresh water for washing up. The small living area, located below the sleeping loft, is bright and airy and faces a wall of large windows that overlook the pond and the surrounding woodlands. The living room nook is ideal for relaxing with a good book and a mug of hot tea, cozying up next to the woodstove.

The compact kitchen is well appointed with the basics needed to prepare simple meals while still being off-the-grid and experiencing nature at its best. The cabin is furnished to comfortable and quality standards with a beautifully natural interior with wooden beams, high ceilings, and natural light.

The cabin is close to all modern facilities and is an ideal location for a glamping adventure.

This small owner-built off-the-grid cabin offers a true outdoor experience with facilities and amenities for guests to enjoy a real glamping adventure. Firewood for heating is provided at no extra cost during the winter months and there is free parking about five minutes from the cabin. The hosts provide fresh bedding for the stay.

The cabin is completely off-the-grid, which means that there is no running water or electricity. LED lights are provided, as well as a compact kitchen for cooking. 20 liters of fresh water, per person, is provided for drinking, cooking, and washing. There is an outhouse facility with a traditional sawdust toilet system. Guests should note that there is no flushing toilet and no shower.

Dogs are family and welcome: guests should add them as the “3rd guest” in their booking request.

There is a security deposit of $116.
