Bed & breaskfast airstream: Canada glamping

Located in the Gatineau Hills of La Pêche, Quebec, Canada, this Airstream rental is featured as one of six gems in CBC's summer life. The property offers glampers everything from plush linens to a yoga / moon viewing deck with infinity views. Guests can enjoy the modern comforts of the architect-designed interiors of this new Airstream.

Accommodating two, guests will have a queen-size bed equipped with luxurious linens. The bedroom offers privacy partitions, closets, and drawers for storage, televisions, a DVD player, and panoramic windows with blinds and curtains. All linens, towels, and bathrobes are supplied, as well as eco-friendly and biodegradable soaps and amenities. There are two exquisite outdoor showers to choose from, infinity or garden.

The Airstream is lofty and full of natural light and the LED ceiling lights are adjustable. The sitting and dining area has soft leather sofas with throw blankets and pillows. The kitchen is fitted with a fridge/freezer, and is well-equipped for meal preparation and service. All cooking is exterior, and a large new Weber barbecue and side gas burner are provided on the bistro deck. Most guests enjoy their breakfasts on the larger, infinity deck which takes in the morning sun and views of the pasture and usually the grazing, neighborly cows.

There are air conditioning and heating within the Airstream. On warm summer days, the many windows and dual ceiling fans enable the best use of cross breezes and natural ventilation. Evenings are sublime on the large private deck, candle lit with lanterns and the starry sky. Guests have exclusive access to the adjacent 'Atelier' room, with its wood burning stove, a sound system, and its library with games. There is a rural internet connection, sufficient for emails but without streaming capabilities.

For outdoor recreation, guests will have two complimentary bicycles, tennis rackets, balls and a practice backboard. A pass to the nearby Gatineau Park's Lac/Lake Philippe is provided, where guests can access rental boats, beaches and walking/hiking trails.

Glampers will have private access to all of the property facilities. There are various places for rest and relaxation: a private barbecue and bistro deck is located at the Airstream's front door; there is a yoga deck/moon viewing platform; and there are sunny hillside seating and an outdoor shower hidden in the apple and spruce trees. The site is steps away from the hosts' home, and they can be available to guests as required.

Guests are provided with fine bedding, towels, and toiletries. The Airstream is wired for entertainment with a stereo, two TVs and DVD players, and built-in USB ports.

A European continental breakfast is provided. All cooking is to be done outdoors and a large, new Weber barbecue with a side gas burner is provided for this purpose. The hosts take care of all of the used dishes—no washing up for guests!

The "Atelier Room" is located adjacent to the Airstream and is a recreational guest space provided exclusively for guests' use with a Scandinavian wood-burning stove, games, plenty of seating and tables, and an iPad and iPhone stereo.

During their stay, guests are offered a visitors' pass to Lac (Lake) Philippe Beach, located in the nearby Gatineau Park. Within a two minute walk, there is a general store with groceries (including juices, beer, and wine) and local products.

The property has two new bicycles and a custom tennis backboard with racquets and balls for guests' use.
