Glamping tents & Gold Coast beaches
One of the best parts about safari tent camping on the Gold Coast is the great access to the amazing beaches. What sounds better than beach holidays in one of our luxury glamping tents? Gold Coast beach holidays in luxury glamping tents! One of our favorite beaches on the Gold Coast is Tallebudgera Creek. Here there is a physical divide between Burleigh in the north and Palm Beach in the south, providing shelter away from the crowds. This dazzling blue estuary is the perfect family-friendly beach destination. Park the car at Burleigh Hill and walk about 15 minutes around the headland where you’ll first spot the creek and beaches through the trees. Right near the city, you have the famous Surfers Paradise, but also Main Beach. Main beach is a bit more mellow than Surfers Paradise and is fringed by sand dunes and some resorts. The expansive stretch of beach continues all the way north to the Spit, where you can spot South Stradbroke Island. The 36-kilometer Gold Coast Oceanway also starts here, which is a great place for walking or cycling. One more of our favorite beaches on the Gold Coast is Currumbin. This family-friendly beach is the perfect place to spend a few days. Try stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, and much more here with the selection of rental shops and operators. For those looking to surf, Currumbin Alley, as it’s affectionately known, is a mellow right-hand break to suit all abilities.
Luxury camping & Gold Coast hikes
While these QLD beaches are certainly some of Australia’s most beautiful, if you can tear yourself away, the Gold Coast Hinterland has so much to offer. Hike past tumbling waterfalls, through prehistoric forests, up to grandstand lookouts over the mountains and coastline. If you’re looking for a shorter hike, try the Mt. Cordeaux trail. A moderate trail that usually takes about two to three hours, this path climbs up through the forest to the Main Range’s upper slopes. Here, the western part of the Scenic Rim, Main Range National Park is a remnant of a massive shield volcano. It’s also part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Or for something a bit more challenging, try the Toolona Creek circuit. This 18.5 km loop takes you up Toolona Creek and past waterfalls on its way to the mountain ridge. If you ask us, this is one of the prettiest walks in the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park, with views of Mount Warning, old-growth forests, and stunning falls. You won't be able to find tent rent like this in any of your normal camping stores. Gold Coast glamping holidays have to be enjoyed in true style. Other great hikes can be found in Apple Tree Park, Burleigh Headland National Park, Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area, and Cedar Creek Falls.
