The coastal town of Watamu is widely known for Watamu Marine National Park and Reserves and is internationally recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The abundance of marine life is awe-inspiring and glampers will come across beautiful coral reefs, dozens of species of fish, and outside the fringe reef, there is an excellent chance of spotting a whale shark and Manta Rays when snorkeling or diving. On the sandy Marine Park beaches, there are three species of sea turtles as well as a vast array of seabirds that call Mida Creek home.

Furthermore, glampers can book a glass-bottom boat tour where they can admire the clear water and all its inhabitants while sipping a cocktail. The African sunsets are something to behold and definitely worth making time for. Additionally, the hosts can organize unforgettable jeep safaris to some of the best camps around. Masai Mara is considered one of the most popular and is nestled in the Great Rift Valley just two hours from Watamu. Here, wildebeest traverse the grassy plains yearly and the resident wildlife include lions, cheetahs, elephants, and hippos. For something out of the ordinary, glampers can embark on a night safari adventure where predators roam in search of their prey.

The Ruins of Gede, an ancient Arab city that dates back to the thirteenth and seventeenth centuries, offers a glimpse into the history of the country and is one of Kenya’s few historic sites. The historic walled city boasts a palace and is nestled inside the Arabuko-Sokoke Forest.
