Capital District

Visit the region of Capital District, home the city of Asunción, the largest city in Paraguay. It's also where the president’s office lies, and just like any government metropolis, you’ll find plenty of historical museums in Asunción. But let’s face it, you’re probably there for its outdoors, so no matter how vibrant its city life is, you cannot miss locations like the Botanical Garden and Zoo of Asunción. Home to 270 acres of natural forest, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including mammals and reptiles unique to South America’s fauna. You should also give La Costanera a visit. Based along the Rio Paraguay, La Costanera is a pretty shoreline with some of the best sunsets. You can rent a bike and stroll along the picturesque area.
