Ica

A city located in southern Peru, Ica is an agricultural hub deep in the Peruvian desert. It’s home to asparagus, cotton, fruits, and it’s also Peru’s leading wine producer—all this from a dry city in the middle of the desert. Although an earthquake hit the city in 2007, much of its architecture survived, including the graceful St. Jerome Cathedral. You’ll find one of Peru’s best museums in Ica, the Regional Museum of Ica, home to mummies, fossils, and textiles and artifacts from the Inca civilizations. Sure, this all sounds like one big history lesson, but the fact is; you’ll be well immersed in Peruvian culture during your stay in Inca. End your days with a Pisco Sour from one of the city’s restaurants, and you’ll have yourself one heck of an experience.
