This cozy yurt rental is located near Glastonbury, England, and can accommodate three guests for an idyllic getaway to the countryside. Inside the fully-insulated yurt, guests will find an airy, colorful bedroom set on a wooden platform, illuminated by ample natural light and LED lighting, kept cozy by a locally handmade wood-burning stove, and filled with an eclectic ensemble of vintage furnishings. The latter includes a table with four chairs, a sofa, a wardrobe, and a king-size, four-poster, colonial Indian bed, which is dressed in luxurious linens. An additional twin-size bed is also available for groups containing a third guest. Other amenities include power points for charging devices and complimentary firewood.
Outside, guests will find a private outdoor area that comes replete with garden furniture, a large parasol, lighting, and a fire pit. In separate units, guests will also find a kitchen, a lavatory with a compost toilet, and a shower with on-demand, instant hot water. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a vintage butler sink, a triple-ring gas hob, cool boxes, frozen ice packs, and an eight-person dining table, along with cooking utensils and thoughtful extras, such as fine china, champagne flutes, and French presses.
Around the site, guests will find a wildflower meadow where, depending on the time of year, they may see cowslips, buttercups, orchids, and vetch, along with a variety of birds and butterflies. From the site, guests can see all the way to the Mendip Hills, Glastonbury Tor, and the Somerset Levels, hinting at excursions to come, while nearby footpaths and bridle paths extend into the surrounding countryside, providing opportunities for scenic walks, hikes, and horseback rides.

Featuring a Thunderbox compost toilet and kept immaculately clean for guests' comfort, the lavatory was built from larch wood sourced from a sustainable woodland. Each of the site's two yurts has its own designated toilet, so one party of guests will not need to share theirs with the other party.
Accessible 24 hours a day, the shower provides guests with instant, on-demand hot water, which is heated by an off-grid propane heater and powered by a leisure battery and boat pump. There is a sink both in the shower unit and outside of the lavatory.

In early April, the surrounding wildflower meadow comes alive with cowslips, which are followed by buttercups that turn it from a vivid yellow to a rich gold. June and July bring rare bee orchids and pyramidal orchids, which are complemented by the royal purple hues of vetch. The tranquility of the meadow is further accentuated by the variety of birds and butterflies that can be seen flitting above it. To help them enjoy their lovely surroundings, guests are provided with a private outdoor space that comes replete with garden furniture, a large parasol, and a fire pit.
For exploring the surrounding countryside, a network of footpaths and bridle paths await guests right outside the property. The yurt is just a 10-minute walk from the Rose and Portcullis pub and a 20-minute walk from Barton Inn, both of which offer high-quality ales and home-cooked country meals. Further afield, guests seeking reconnection to nature can head to the Shapwick, around which they will find the Ham Wall National Nature Reserve, the Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve, and the Westhay Moor National Nature Reserve. Other nearby natural areas include the Great Breach and Copley Woods, which are home to large blue butterflies.
A bus runs from the village of Butleigh to the city of Glastonbury, which can be reached in about 35 minutes by bus and 15 minutes by car. In and around Glastonbury, guests will find attractions such as Glastonbury Tor, Glastonbury Abbey, Chalice Well, and the Somerset Rural Life Museum. The site is about an hour from Bristol, where the nearest international airport is located.
