Secluded Safari Tents on a Historic Estate in La Vandée, France
"Wonderful week in the tented lodge. Very comfortable beds, excellent kitchen and living space and beautiful chateau and surroundings. The best featur…"
Located on a historic estate in the region of La Vandée in western France, these secluded safari tents are named after the four wine-producing regions in La Vendée: the Brem, the Vix, the Pissotte, and the Mareuil. Built on wooden pillars, the luxury tents are secluded and have been placed apart from one another to create plenty of privacy.
Each of the tents has a living room with a wood-burning stove to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to relax in. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with a twin bed and a set of bunk beds. The bathroom has a shower, a sink, and a toilet, and the kitchen comes with the all the basics to prepare simple home-cooked food.
Outside, guests can sit and relax on the front deck, which comes furnished with outdoor chairs and a swinging chair hung from the ceiling. It's a fantastic place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of rosé while taking in the stunning surroundings. There is also a barbecue for outdoor cooking and dining, and a shared outdoor pool nearby for hot summer afternoons.
This beautiful glamping site is surrounded by lush landscape and bordered by a bubbling river. The 17th Century dovecote is still functioning to this day, the renovated former wine house serves as a restaurant, and the stables are still occasionally used by guests.
The dog kennel of the old castle has been maintained in its original state and is now used as a playground for children. It comes equipped with a trampoline, a ping-pong table, a swing set, and a small soccer field. There is also a "jeu de boules" lane in the courtyard next to the pool entrance.
The big pool, 100 square-meters in size, is open from May until the end of September. It is heated, completely walled-in, and centrally located on the estate. Along with the old walls, olive trees, and lavender, the pool creates the perfect environment to cool off, relax, and enjoy the sun.
