This affectionately named Yurty Ahern yurt is a cosy Mongolian yurt which sleeps 4 people comfortably in a double and 2 single beds. A camping bed can be added for a 5th person. The yurt is heated by an electric heater and has a raised floor, insulated walls and an added cladding layer and felt roof. The roofed deck next to Yurty features a 4 person wood fired hot tub and outdoor furniture. There are shared bathroom facilities, and a camp kitchen onsite for guests to use. In addition, the hosts provide a delicious continental breakfast each day.
This bright and comfortable yurt is located near the town of Ballaghaderreen, and can accommodate 5 guests.
Outside, under a lovely covered deck, there is a private hot tub. Guests can enjoy a rejuvenating soak in the wood-fired tub while enjoying the peace and quiet of their surroundings. Enough wood to heat the hot tub once per day is kindly provided. A table and chairs complete the outdoor space for guests to relax.
Guests can pack light as this property comes equipped with linens and beds, while devices can easily be charged courtesy of the electricity points inside. Coffee and tea-making facilities are provided to start each day with a hot cup to be enjoyed outside on the deck. Parking is available
Yurty Ahern is one of 7 glamping units at Willowbrook Glamping & Hideaways (3 glamping pods, 3 yurts, and our Enchanted Forest Hideaway). The property also includes camping / motorhome / caravan pitches and 21 acres of land for you to explore.
The site is bordered to the south by the river Lung (permit-free fishing), and has a small lake. The river and lake are not suitable for swimming, however Kayaks & SUPs may be used on the river, and there is a beautiful swimming spot al a local lake not far from site.
A well maintained toilet/shower block and a fully equiped campers kitchen are available for use during your stay.
A simple continental breakfast is provided each morning in the campers kitchen for all our glamping guests (cereals, toast, tea, coffee, fruit etc.). Space is also available in the communal kitchen Fridges and freezers for you to store your food.

-Make your own pizza (all ingredients, fuel and our wood-fired pizza oven provided)
-Alpacca walks (must be booked in advance please get in touch for details)
-Massage & Tai Chi instruction in our wellness centre.
For kids we have:
-Morning art classes / kids club (most mornings during school holidays and saturdays throughout the year)
-Kids Summer, Easter and Halloween camps (get in touch for dates)
-Kids movie nights and kids discos (most weekends throughout the summer)
-A fairy garden, a fairy door trail, and a kiddies Orienteering course.

Our site itself is quiet and secluded however you will find the busy town of Ballaghaderreen only 5 minutes drive from site, with larger towns, Roscommon, Carick on Shannon, Claremorris and Castlebar all within a 40 minute drive.
There are plenty of activities to do around the area including the following:
-Strokestown House & National Famine museum.
-Arigna Mining visitors centre, Arigna.
-Rathcroughan visitors centre (history museum).
-The museum of country life, Castlebar.
-Roscommon Walking trails (guide book available at reception).

For the kids, Willowbrook is host to morning art classes, discos and movies as well as art & nature camps at easter, in the summer and at halloween. These activities while being great for the kids, also allow parents to have a little mini holiday, while on holiday.
