Luxury Eco Tented Camp Maasai Mara, Kenya
Safari tent in Narok, Narok
2 guests
There are twelve tents on site on the edge of the forest, allowing for views of the surrounding savannah. They are spaced out so as to allow for the most private and relaxing holiday. The tents are made out of canvas and natural materials, and furnished with solely handmade fixtures – no cement was used in their construction so as to minimize any impact on the environment. Each tent has its own private veranda as well as large en-suite bathrooms. The bathrooms are equipped with hot showers and flush toilets, and you are provided with shampoo, soaps, and conditioner that are both high quality and eco-friendly. The verandas have a sitting area, lounger and hammock. The tents have the option to hold king sized, twin or triple beds, and there is a dresser with a full-length mirror.
There is a larger tent on site that houses the lounge area of the property, which is accessible to all guests. You can have a refreshing drink and indulge in the multitude of books and board games at your disposal.
The rates indicated include full board, drinks (except champagne, spirits and premium brands), transfers to and from the airstrip, all fees and taxes for the conservation, game drives, night drives, bush walks, and laundry service.
The property is entirely solar powered, and the dining tent is equipped with solar powered electrical outlets for guests to charge electronics. Water is also heated with solar power, so as to avoid carbon emissions with wood or charcoal fuel. All water waste is treated and filtered before disposal. To help the local people, only locally grown products are used, and only local people are employed as staff. Rainwater is harvested in large tanks for multiple uses around the camp.
There is a nightly turn down service, where they will add a hot water bottle under your sheets to keep your feet warm. There is also an optional morning wakeup call with fresh tea or coffee and breakfast pastries.
For every guest that stays at this property a tree is planted in the Conservancy. For every same guest that stays at this property, one day of school fees is paid for a student at the Koiyaki Guiding School.

Scenic views
This region of Kenya is famous for its migration season – between June and July depending on the year you will see the whole landscape change from the golden green of the savanna to a mottle of black patches in constant movement, the gnus. Along with these migrants you will find half a million zebras, about a quarter million gazelles, and many other amazing animals. Giraffes and elephants are a daily appearance, and this conservancy has the highest density of lions in all of Africa – one of the main prides is comprised of 22 lions and has its base right by the property.
This site was nominated for Kenya’s Leading Safari Camp 2013 by World Travel Awards and was also given this award in 2012. It was also nominated for the Safari Awards in 2013.
