The property’s location is ideally tucked away in a quiet hillside while situated just a few minutes away from many gems of the southern coast of Lebanon, with extremely close proximity to two of Lebanon’s largest cities. Just a moment away from the property, guests can visit the historic landmark, the Tower of Our Lady of Mantara, a Marian shrine built above a cave believed to have been the resting place of the Virgin Mary as she waited for Jesus while he preached in Sidon.
Lebanon’s third-largest city, Sidon, is just a 10-minute drive away, offering a rich blend of cultural heritage sites, an old city, beaches, shopping, cuisine, and entertainment. Guests can check out Saida public beach, in the heart of the city, or venture just north or south to discover many other beautiful beaches. The Said Souq, Sidon’s old city and one of Lebanon’s most authentic souq areas, is characterized by narrow streets and old buildings, offering a glimpse back in time, with markets and traditional Lebanese treats to sample along the way.
Guests will have the chance to embark on a journey back in time, visiting the 13th century Crusaders Sea Castle, just a 10-minute drive away. The stunning castle was built on a small island connected to the mainland by a fortified stone and is located in front of the souq entrance. An even more ancient site, the Temple of Eshmun, is dedicated to Eshmun, the Phoenician god of healing, and dates all the way back to the 7th century.
Guests are only a one hour drive away from Beirut, the country’s Capital city and biggest cultural and historical hub. This city’s downtown is full of Souks (markets), historical landmarks including Martys’ Square and Nijmeh Square, monuments dedicated to the country’s divided history, and several museums showcasing the country’s complex history. For those who enjoy being near the Mediterranean, the Zaitunay Bay yachting dock offers great views and restaurant options. Finally, guests won’t want to miss a visit to Pigeon Rocks, Raouche, a Lebanese natural treasure, displaying stunningly picturesque rock formations in the sea.
