This rural vacation rental is nestled in the community of Malinalco in Mexico's Ixtapan Region. Surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation, the charming town has cobblestone streets, plenty of restaurants, and a pervasive scent of flowers. Guests will soon discover that the area has long been associated with sorcery, as legend says it was the home of the goddess Malinalxóchil. A great place to learn about the town's history is the Museo de Malinalco, and guests should be sure to check out the Malinalco Archeological Zone, which is near the town center.

The nearest larger city is Toluca, which is less than an hour away and is known for its colonial architecture. It is home to the Catedral de San José and the Palacio Municipal, both of which are certainly worth a visit. The main square is called Plaza de Los Mártires, and offers restaurants, shops, and other entertainment. Another noteworthy attraction is Toluca's Cosmovitral Botanical Garden, which has plants from around the world and incredible stained-glass murals.
