This charming getaway is the perfect retreat for a relaxing vacation in the beautiful tropical landscape of north New Zealand. While staying in one of the nature lodge suites, glampers can unwind on the porch with vistas of the Bay of Plenty and the Kaimai mountains in the distance, or go through a stroll under the Mamaku trees as the warblers, tui, and bell-birds chirp overhead. In Kaimai Mamaku National Park, which is just a short drive from the lodge, glampers can go for more challenging hikes through the bushlands, with trails that lead to high elevation lookout points scattered throughout the park.

At the Bay of Plenty, glampers can book kayak or cruise tours of the harbor, or paddle through the Waimarino Glow Worms in Lake McLaren with one of the guide companies in town. There are also various beaches along the coast for glampers to explore, from Maketu Beach near Mount Maunganui to Newdicks Beach near Okurei Point and Athenree Beach in Shelly’s Bay. After spending a day out on the sand, glampers could head into Tauranga or Bowentown for a bite to eat and a stroll around these historic town centers.
