The lodge and Kerikeri itself offer visitors a large variety of activities. Visit the famous Palmco and Wharepuke gardens and explore the amazing fauna. The area has great walking and hiking paths: Follow the bush trip of Charles Darwin and see the same waterfall (Rainbow Falls) and walk the same track as he did. Check out the imposing kauri's at Puketi Forest with access to the Kerikeri Inlet and the Bay of Islands. Take a steamboat at the historic Stone Store Basin and pass New Zealand's oldest buildings. Rewa's village will take glampers on a trip back to the time before the European settlers.
Other outdoor activities include tree climbing (courses for each level available), golf, horse trekking, boat trips and island cruises, scuba and wreck diving, swimming with dolphins, kayaking, sailing, therapeutic hot pools, cultural visits to traditional Maori villages and other archaeological and historic sites such as the Pa-site of the famous warrior chief Hongi Hika. Don't forget to check out the vibrant town itself with its excellent restaurants, famous farmer's market, cafes and shops, vineyard trails, arts centers and chocolate factory.
Glampers can wake to town through the woods—it’s just a 20 minute scenic walk. There are also good taxi and bus services.
Those who enjoy walking will also like the trail that starts at the glamping site and leads to two waterfalls.
