A town with a population dedicated to agriculture, Ohariu Valley is a humble town just north of North Island’s capital of Wellington. As such, those traveling to Wellington should stop to indulge in the natural life that surrounds the town, including Porirua Scenic Reserve. The reserve is home to many scenic walking trails that take you up and down its ranges. One of the tracks takes you to the summit of Colonial Knob, where you’ll be greeted by a view of Cook Strait. The reserve even offers Go-Karting activities at North City Raceway, the longest indoor track in New Zealand. As such, whether you’re looking to indulge in the outdoors or crash bumper cars, Ohariu Valley wouldn’t be a bad idea when making your way to Wellington.
