This beautiful room in a unique vacation rental with beach and mountain views, is set in the foothills of Mount Karioi, in Raglan, New Zealand. The room is an idyllic place for couples to stay for a romantic getaway while exploring the incredible countryside and beaches of the beautiful Waikato region. The room has the added feature of being able to be locked off from the rest of the rental with its own entrance so guests can come and go freely.
The room has an incredibly comfortable king-size bed which can be split into twin beds should guests request it. The room comes with a television so guests can relax in front of a movie in the evenings. There is a full ensuite bathroom that comes with the room ensuring that guests have privacy throughout their stay. Guests can relax in the room and make the most of the large windows to take in the breathtaking views of the mountain and the nearby beach.
Guests can enjoy their breakfast on the east deck with the morning sun shining down on them or maybe sit on the west deck and admire the view of the oceans. There is also a barbeque that guests are welcome to use, perhaps cooking a freshly caught fish from Ruapuke's fishing areas.
All bed linens are provided, as are beach towels so guests don't need to worry about getting their own towels sandy while on the beach. The rental has free Wi-Fi for guests to use. All of the rooms in the rental have a television. Guests can choose between a fully cooked breakfast, or a continental breakfast each morning. They are also welcome to help themselves to tea or coffee throughout their stay. It may be possible to cater for pets, however, guests should inquire with the host if they would like this option.

Being set in the foothills of Mount Karioi, guests can walk to the top and admire incredible views of Raglan, Kawhia, and Aotea. Guests can bike or walk along the Pipwharauroa Trail, which leads to the Te Uku Wind Farm. From the top of the wind farm, visitors can see yet more stunning views of the greater Waikato area including Raglan, Kawhia, the Aotea Harbour, and on clear days they may even see across to Mount Taranaki. With the close proximity of the beach, visitors can head out on the waves and try their hand at surfing, enjoy some swimming, or maybe just laze on the beach soaking up the sun.
There are horse riding tours available on the beach, as well as over the local farmland, or even up Mount Karioi. Ruapuke's Papanui Rock and the wharf in Raglan are perfect sports for anyone keen on some fishing. The Bridal Veil Falls are well worth a visit. With observation platforms and surrounded by incredible wildlife and countryside, guests can fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty of this incredible country. In the nearby estuary, glampers can try some stand-up paddle boarding with Raglan Watersports who also offer kayaking, surf lesson, and much more besides. In Raglan itself, guests will find a host of galleries and fashion boutiques for a touch of urban living during their stay, There are also numerous great restaurants to choose from.
One does not simply visit this region of New Zealand without visiting the Hobbiton Movie set. 90 minutes drive from the rental, glampers can go and experience the home of the globally famous trilogy and see first hand the houses, gardens, and even the Green Dragon Pub made famous by the movies. Anyone who takes part in one of the various tours at the set can enjoy food and an ale, cider, or non-alcoholic ginger beer in the fully reconstructed pub at the end of the tour. The set also hosts numerous events to celebrate the films and the Hobbits of the Shire throughout the year.
