The Coromandel Peninsula has it all for adventure-seekers. Surrounded by water and home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, guests can kayak, canoe, snorkel, scuba dive, sail, and partake in many other water sports all with a stunning, natural backdrop. For a resort-like experience, guests can take a ferry to the neighboring town Pauanui, a popular vacation escape, where guests can enjoy beautiful beaches, swimming, and ocean waves perfect for surfing. Guests can also hike a tree-lined trail to the peak of Mount Paku which offers panoramic views of Coromandel Mountain Ranges, the Tairua River, and the Pacific Ocean.

Whitianga and Hahei are excellent starting points for ocean adventures. Both nearby towns offer tours boasting sea cave excursions, snorkeling and diving adventures, and glass-bottom boat rides. These two marine hubs are a great way to get a seaside perspective of the Coromandel Peninsula while taking in the nautical atmosphere and even spotting wildlife and native sea creatures. At the center of the Coromandel east coast, Tairua is also located in a fishing mecca for competitive anglers. Guests can reel in snappers, kingfish, marlin, tuna, and even swordfish available charter boats or from local beaches and piers.

Tairua and Pauanui offer three local golf courses each with a variety of challenges and obstacles to spice up a stimulating and exciting round of golf. The Tairua Country Club golf course offers views of the mountainous landscape and serene harbor, making it a picturesque playing experience.

Just a five-minute walk away from this lodge are the restaurants, cafes, and crafts shops in the town of Tairua. After a long day playing golf, hiking, or lounging on the beach, guests can refuel at any of restaurants in town like the Old Mill Café which features bright pink walls, elegant décor, and deliciously-cooked catches of the day. At Manaia Kitchen and Bar, guests can enjoy a laid-back brunch or stop in for live music and a friendly bar atmosphere later at night.
