With the whole of Golden Bay on the doorstep, there are so many activities for guests to choose from during their stay. If hiking is the order of the day, there are some truly exquisite trails that ought not to be missed -
particularly the Wharariki Beach Walking Track, the Pupu Hydro Walkway, and the Rawhiti Cave Track. Wharariki beach is at the northernmost tip of the island, while the latter two are located in Takaka, and each is just over an hour away by car.

Alternatively, there are lots of good spots for kayaking and canoeing nearby for guests who would prefer to take to the water. There are also boat tours of the area, as well as a couple of companies that offer horseback riding tours, both of which are great ways to explore the coastline. Keen golfers will be pleased to discover the golf course in Takaka, where visitors can hit off a few rounds and keep their swing in good shape.

Guests may want to relax after a day or two of bracing sea air and outdoor pursuits, and what better way to do that with a day at a spa. There are several in the area that come highly recommended and offer a range of treatments and facilities. To top off a day of pampering, guests can head over to one of the many vineyards for an evening of wine tours and tastings.
