Description of Glamping Units
These bungalows have been framed into the beautiful landscape in order minimize their impact on the environment. The bungalows guarantee direct contact with nature but also offer comfortable conditions both inside the bungalow and on the suspended balcony. With the whole glass facade facing the water, you will get the feeling of waking up in the middle of a forest, without sacrificing the comforts you would have at a luxurious hotel. There are 2 types of bungalows to choose from.
Bungalow T1 is a small and beautiful piece of modern architecture with a bedroom and a suspended balcony facing Bayou of the River Lima. The bungalow also is equipped with a kitchenette and bathroom with shower cabin.
Bungalow T1+1 is the bigger, modern architecture bungalow with a bedroom and a suspended balcony facing Bayou of River Lima. Its living space is equipped with a sofa-bed and a kitchenette. This glamping site was founded in 1998 and is located at the peninsula of Lima and Tamente rivers, inside of the Peneda-Geres National Park in the place called Entre Ambos-os-Rios (a Portuguese name for “between the two rivers”), Ponte da Barca in the district of Viana do Castelo, which is in northern Portugal. The Peneda-Geres National Park was named a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is one of the greatest natural attractions in Portugal with its rare and stunning scenic beauty and the ecological and ethnographic value and variety of fauna (roe deer, ponies, wolves, birds of prey) and flora (pine, yew, chestnut, oak and various medicinal plants). It extends from the mountains of Geres in the south, through the mountains of Peneda, to the Spanish border. Near the camping site you’ll find the Castle and Dam of Lindoso with its spectacular views, and São Bento de Ermelo Monastery, famous for its tasty oranges originally planted by monks. You’ll also be close to Soajo village with its “espigueiros” (authentic small stone constructions for the storage of corn and other grains) and beautiful mountain ranges with waterfalls and natural lakes.
