This is the perfect getaway for anyone who wishes to truly unplug and fill their days with real relaxation and make quality time for yourself(ves), then this is the place for you. Staying on Herron Island seems to encourage a slowing down that's good for the soul. It certainly surprised me how the surroundings just encouraged my mind to get empty and freed up space for what was really me. The space provides everything you need, and a little extra, but I don't recommend this as a place to concentrate on any kind of project unless it's to go deeper into yourself. We experienced Herron Island as a place great for slowing down and getting away from high energy, so I'd highly encourage you use it for that purpose (unless you’re the kind of person who enjoys working on the beach). It might even be the perfect place to relax from your sightseeing, hiking, tourist attraction vacation;) And for those seeking romance, I can't imagine a better place to be to concentrate on what matters most for a romantic getaway: spending quality time with each other and filling up your time in a place that encourages closeness and intimacy. We did take a daylong excursion off the island one day, but honestly, if we had it to do again, we'd suggest just bringing what you need to eat and drink and be comfortable for however many days and nights you have (plenty of blankets and towels here), and just enjoy being with each other and building whatever your relationship needs for the time you have there. If you do plan to take a day away, make sure to let the host know as the ferry requires a permit for each trip. There was absolutely no interference from anyone else on the island (well except from curious deer), even when we walked around and explored the island, so know that you can be free to be yourselves in this little space you can truly make your own while you are there.

This cabin was perfect for our mini staycation/anniversary getaway. We didn’t want to venture too far, but Bainbridge was perfectly far enough from Lynnwood. The place was cozy and we will definitely keep this place in mind for future bookings.
