This spacious holiday rental for groups in North Essex can accommodate up to 12 guests and features a large open concept kitchen, dining area, and living room with a log burner. There is a good-sized utility room adjacent to the kitchen, and in addition, there is a family-size bedroom and ensuite bathroom downstairs, which are suitable for those with wheelchairs. (The property has an M2 mobility rating.)

Upstairs, there is another large comfortable living area with sea views over the estuary, and a double sofa bed, plus two twin bedrooms with the main bathroom adjacent to them and a double bedroom with ensuite facilities. The cottage has a courtyard garden that stretches along two sides of the building, and this contains tables, chairs, and that all important for a barbecue on those sunny days. A large secure storage area can be found behind the building, suitable for bicycles or windsurfing equipment, for those of a sporty nature.

Up to two dogs are allowed per cottage at an additional cost of £10 per dog, per stay.

The site has stabling for around 12 horses, which should keep equine enthusiasts entertained. If fishing is more appealing, guests can enjoy a peaceful afternoon casting off at the on-site fishing reservoir. Guests also have access to a free pass for the neighboring Essex Wildlife Trust Colne Point Nature Reserve, and the road beyond the property leads directly to the reserve.

The county’s gently rolling landscapes speckled with picturesque towns and villages have inspired a range of well-known artists, for example, Constable who is famous for his paintings of Dedham which is not far from St Osyth, and Wivenhoe, a quaint village nearby which offers beautiful views and is home to some beautiful pottery artists.

Vibrant seaside towns, such as Frinton and Walton, merge with quiet, isolated beaches that in turn become networks of tidal inlets and estuaries—rich in wildlife and perfect for a relaxing day out. The towns of Brightlingsea and Mersea offer lovely day trips, where guests can watch the local boats racing on a Sunday at Brightlingsea. They can also take a trip across the Strood to Mersea (watch out for high tide!) and go for a walk along the beach, all before enjoying some delicious fresh seafood from The Company Shed restaurant.
