Best family glamping UK: luxury lakefront pod rental

There are 21 pods on the property. Each pod comes with two quality beds and mattresses, lights and hooks. The pods are insulated to stay warm. All camping pods are the same family size and suitable for up to two adults or up to two adults and two children. Two children (or three small children) can fit in a Pod, but you would need to bring additional airbeds or roll mats. Remember, you do need to bring your own bedding – sleeping bags, duvets, and pillows.

Bookings also include 24hr access to the beautiful Lakeside Lodge which has a kitchen including complimentary teas and coffees (including mugs and spoons), a kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, three newly fitted sparkling clean wet rooms with toilets, hot showers, and a large common room. Power sockets are also available in the lodge for hairdryers and charging phones.

There are a number of fire pits and BBQs on site. There’s a lot to do both on and off site, as well as a range of exciting events throughout the year.

COVID-19 Actions

Being a small rural site set in a large outdoor space, Stanley Villa Farm Fishing & Camping is by default ideally placed to keep guests safe and provide well-spaced out accommodation. Our number one rule has always been “to be respectful of fellow campers” and this message is more important now than ever. Following the government guidelines, in order to help keep customers and staff safe, we’ve introduced the following measures: 1) Check in will be contactless and outdoors. Staff will greet you in the car park – maintaining social distancing – then give you information on which Pod you’re in – the key for the Pod will be in the door ready for you. 2) Check out will also be contactless – we’d ask you simply leave your Pod key in the door. 3) Additional Toilet Units have been added to the site and will be cleaned on a more regular basis. 4) The toilets will have hand sanitiser available outside them, and inside anti-bac hand soap, and paper towels. 5) Additional shower units have been added and will work on a time slot basis, with cleans between each use. 6) A one way system will be implemented in the main facilities building and numbers of guests limited to comply with social distancing. 7) Due to it’s size the kitchen area can only be used by one person – or persons from the same household – at the same time. Signage will clearly advise this, and regular staff checks will be in place. A hand sanitiser unit will be in place and windows kept open to encourage ventilation. 8) The main items in the kitchen such as the kettle, toaster and microwave will still be available for those who need them, but will be cleaned more frequently and guests asked to use anti-bacterial wipes – which will be provided - before and after use – particularly on the handles / high touch point areas. 9) Tea towels will no longer be provided – so please bring your own or use the disposable blue roll provided. 10) Cutlery and crockery will no longer be provided, please either bring your own, or disposable sets can be purchased on site. 11) The free tea’s, coffees, and hot chocolates will continue to be provided. 12) The shared fridge / freezers will be in use. These will be cleaned more frequently, and anti-bacterial wipes and a hand sanitiser will be available near them. Guests do not have to use the shared facilities – and may wish to bring their own cool box. Staff will happily re-freeze any blocks in their private freezer on request. 13) All Camping Pods will have an even more thorough clean after each stay, and doors kept open between uses where possible to encourage ventilation. 14) The office and shop area on site to be used by staff only. There will be an area customer can stand outside the shop and make purchases. Contactless payments encouraged. 15) PPE including gloves and masks available to staff.

All Bank Holidays are normal rates, although a two-night minimum stay does apply if arriving Friday or Saturday.

Check-in is from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the day of arrival, and check-out is 11 a.m. on day of departure.

There is a pet fee of £5 per pet, per night. They must be friendly and kept on a lead.

Guests will need to bring their own bedding (pillows, duvets, and sleeping bags). Roll mats and air beds may also be necessary. A torch, food, and drinks are recommended as this is a self-catering property.

Extras: Firewood package £10 includes logs and everything you need to get it started, chair hire £3 per chair (keep it as long as you stay), marshmallows £2, and more. Ask on site for details and to buy.

The campsite is home to ‘Fylde Trout Fishery’. Established in 2008, this beautiful, five-acre lake is host to rainbow, blue, and brown trout up to 12 pounds. If guests enjoy fly fishing, then they are in for a treat. The lake is surrounded by wildlife and has been planted with native trees and hedges to blend in with the surrounding countryside. It’s not unusual to see wild deer as well as the usual suspects (rabbits, squirrels, pheasants, and a large selection of birds including kingfishers, hawks, and owls).

There is a large field (about the size of four football pitches!) for children to play on. The property also has footballs, a rounders’ set, swing ball, cricket, and kites all in the ‘Mini Pod’, and there is a host of board games in the main lodge (for when the weather isn’t so nice). Campfires and BBQs are allowed and even encouraged. Firewood is available to buy online when booking or directly on site.

Nearby Attractions:
This site is only a 15 minute drive from the attractions of Blackpool, The Pleasure Beach including Europe’s tallest roller coaster, the Pepsi Max Big One, Blackpool Tower & Dungeons, The Sea Life Centre, Sandcastle Waterpark, Blackpool Zoo, Madame Tussuads, and of course the Illuminations – in 2016 running from 2nd Sept – 6th Nov.

Or for those looking for something a little more on the quiet side, there are various local heritage walks and cycle routes around the Fylde coast, as well as a host of world-renowned golf courses and traditional country pubs. The nearest country pub is the Eagle and Child, only a short 20 minute walk from the site (or 2 minute drive).
