Blairgowrie sits near the great Grampian Mountains and Cairngorms National Park, both of which offer up lush forest and wilderness landscapes. The popular Cateran Trail, a 65-mile hiking trail, runs through the farm where the cottage sits, and well-placed markers make it easy for guests to follow it as far as they want to go. This trail takes hikers across scenic routes and into breathtaking landscapes that are rarely seen aboard a vehicle.

Alyth Den is another a nice area for hikers and outdoor lovers. It has numerous paths that go deep into the forest, but there are markers and benches where guests can take a break. In addition, the property is close to the powerful Reekie Linn Falls, and it only takes a short walk through woodlands for visitors to catch a glimpse of its majestic beauty.
