The property and the area provide an abundance of activities to engage in. There are 14 miles of trails for long hikes and geocache hunts. In the winter, guests can rent cross-country skis or snowshoes for the trails. The Great Allegheny Passage bike trail is a short drive away, with shuttles and bike rentals available from the main lodge.

Fly fishing excursions are offered on a few of the legendary trout streams and rivers nearby, and the property is the only Trout Unlimited-endorsed lodge in Maryland. The on-site gourmet American dining restaurant features dishes from wild game to tempeh, with care for gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan diners, and it also has an extensive, award-winning wine list.
