Croton-on-Hudson

Croton-on-Hudson is a large village on the eastern banks of the Hudson River, which is defined by an incredible and unique landscape made up of crashing waterfalls and structurally impressive dams. It is for this reason that more campers visit every year, but it is also the Catskill Mountains which lie over the river that keep people coming back. For riverside hikes that follow the river, and for serene views, make sure you stop by Hook Mountain State Park, and for the chance to see eagles flying through the air and resting in the trees, stop by Teatown Lake Reservation. Croton Gorge Park provides the best views of the deep gorge, as well as fishing and hiking opportunities. The best fall colors can be seen at Blue Mountain Park.
