In the first two bedrooms, guests will find a queen-size bed, a dresser, and lamps for warm lighting in the evenings. The other two bedrooms feature the same decorations, yet house full-size beds. The fifth bedroom is the newest addition to the lodge and is known as the bridal suite since it was ideally designed to accommodate blushing brides who might be renting the property for their wedding days. The suite is bright and airy, with natural light and white walls, unlike the rest of the wood-paneled lodge. Accessible by its own private entrance, the suite contains a queen-size bed, seating, a full-length mirror, and a bathroom complete with a sink, a toilet, and a Jacuzzi bathtub. The suite is sure to make any guest comfortable, bride or not, as it can also function as a honeymoon suite or master bedroom, depending on the guest renting it. Two more bathrooms can be found in the lodge, both with a toilet and sink, and one with a newly tiled, large walk-in shower.

The inviting living area of the lodge is accessible after passing through the massive wraparound porch that surrounds the lodge and houses wooden rocking chairs for guests to sit in while soaking up amazing views of the property. The living room features three large couches and a big armchair with a footstool for guests to kick back in while watching a movie or a show on the cable television also housed in the room. A coffee table resting on a patterned rug allows guests to play card games, put their feet up, or snack in the enjoyable open living area. In the middle of the first floor, guests will find massive wooden stairs leading up the balcony hallway that leads to each bedroom. Just beside it, guests will have the opportunity to spend time in the fully-equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator, a stove, an oven, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a toaster, a tea kettle, and utensils, pots and pans, all stowed away in wooden cabinets against wide windows that fill the room with natural light. The kitchen also has a six-seater dining room table so guests can enjoy meals together in the large common space.

All guests are encouraged to spend their evenings gathered around the campfire outside, whether it be to soak up the breathtaking scenery, to roast marshmallows, or to just delight in each other’s company while on a dream serene vacation.

Facilities include air conditioning and central heating throughout the lodge as well as Wi-Fi to keep guests connected during their stay. Linens and towels are provided, along with toiletries like toilet paper and soap. Parking is easily available to guests, and there is a campfire pit outside to facilitate fun times outdoors roasting marshmallows.

The fantastic lodge is just a 10-minute drive from Ricketts Glen State Park, home to incredible hiking trails and waterfalls to guests to discover at their own pace. Upon arriving at the State Park, guests should hike the Falls Trail System, a three and a half mile-hike that showcases 18 of the 22 waterfalls located in the park. Guests are highly encouraged to lace up their hiking shoes before embarking on the trail since it can be a bit slippery and steep at points. The hike is meant to be embarked upon leisurely, so guests may stop at the falls, including one that stands at 94-feet tall, and bask in the beauty of the natural wonders while trekking through the wooded glen.

After the worthwhile hike, guests may enjoy a dip in Lake Jean, the 245-acre lake that calls Ricketts Glen State Park home and enables guests to cool off in its fresh waters after soaking up the sunshine. Lake Jean’s crystal blue waters and gorgeous green surroundings invite guests to dive in for a fun swim with family and/or friends, or a peaceful float after a long day spent in other parts of the park. A nearby concession stand provides classic treats like ice cream and cool beverages that guests may be inclined to delight in after having their own picnic on the shore.

During the summer, visitors are able to rent boats to cruise across the waves and cast their lines and reel in a big catch. Fishing is an exciting and popular activity on the lake no matter the season, including November through March, when guests may try their hand at ice fishing.

During the winter months, guests visiting the park can snowmobile, cross-country ski, and even venture the trails strapped into snowshoes.

For a taste of city life, guests may wish to spend the day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest city, best known for its historical sights worth visiting, such as the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Reading Terminal Market.
