Charming A-frame cabin nestled in Michaux State Forest. Enjoy the sounds of Mountain Creek from the comfort of the deck or relax on the bench by the water's edge. The cabin offers comfortable accommodations with 3 queen beds and a full bathroom. For those seeking adventure, the cabin is close to the 1/2 way point of the Appalachian Trail. Several lakes are within a few miles for swimming and fishing. We are a beautiful, easy 20 minute drive to Gettysburg. Unwind around the fire at day’s end.
The space
If you like nature and privacy, you’ll love this A-Frame. Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful surroundings are a few adjectives routinely used to describe the cabin.

Relax on the bench by Mountain Creek at the end of our property or curl up with a good book on the hammock. At the end of the day roast some marshmallows in the large fire pit area out back. If you desire eating meals on property we offer a Blackstone griddle on the large backyard deck, and plenty of seating at the table.
Near Michaux State Forest, Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Caledonia State Park and a few miles to the halfway point of the Appalachian Trail. Loads of hiking, mountain biking, ATV and snow mobile trails. About a 20 minute drive to downtown Gettysburg, 30 minutes to Carlisle.
Ski Liberty Mountain in Fairfield is about a 30 minute drive and Ski Roundtop Mountain in Lewisberry is a 50 minute drive.

*The downstairs bedroom does not have a door to close or a curtain. It sits behind the staircase (see pictures)
*Upstairs bedrooms - there is a door at the top of the steep staircase and a door between the rooms. To access the back bedroom guest must walk through the bedroom in the front.
*Due to the steep staircase we do not accept guests younger than 12 years of age.

The entire property is yours to use while you’re staying here. Enjoy s’mores around the campfire, relax in the hammock or hang out on the bench down by Mountain Creek at the end of our property. Upon waking, enjoy your morning coffee and meals outside on the large deck.

Guests will have plenty to do during their vacation in Pennsylvania and Ski Liberty is only eight miles away. Gettysburg National Military Park is mere minutes down the road with dozens of hiking trails, horseback riding, biking, and other options for outdoor activity.
The Gettysburg cottage is surrounded by fields and sits between two farms. Marsh Creek flows directly across the street in front of the cottage and the environment is serene and quiet.

NO parties or gathering events.
Visitors other than guests - Host needs to know number, time and identities of outside visitors prior to booking.
ABSOLUTELY NO smoking or narcotics on the premises. NO smoking in the cottage, on the front porch or in the backyard. If we see evidence of smoking it is immediate grounds for removal from the property without a refund.
NO pets of any kind. I am highly allergic to dogs. We have this policy to protect my health and our other guests who suffer from allergies. There are many pet friendly accommodations in the area.
NO loud music or disturbance to neighbors. They live here permanently and we want to maintain a good relationship with them.
Please understand the cottage sits between two fields and is directly across from a creek. We have a monthly pest control service but you may see a bug or two inside the cottage at times, especially if the backdoor is open for long periods of time. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. Thus we do not refund if you encounter them during your stay.
Host is not responsible for any items left by the guests. It is the guest's financial responsibility to cover the cost of shipping any item left in the home.
