Covington is a city in northwestern Virginia, and glampers must have a look at the three sites that Covington has on the National Register of Historic Places: Luke Mountain Historic District, Persinger House, and Rosedale Historic District. Nearby is the North River district of the George Washington National Forest, where glampers will enjoy discovering its natural beauty by hiking, mountain biking, or fishing—the National Forest's three most popular activities. In terms of the local climate, guests can expect mild to cool winters and hot summers with plenty of humidity while staying in Covington.

The closest major city is Roanoke, which, at just over an hour away, makes for a fun day trip. Roanoke boasts a number of natural sites and historical and cultural attractions for glampers to experience, such as Mill Mountain Star and Park, the Virginia Museum of Transportation, the Roanoke Valley Greenways, Center in the Square, the Mill Mountain Theatre, Carvins Cove Natural Reserve, and the Science Museum of Western Virginia & Hopkins Planetarium, to name a few.

Given this site's proximity to the Jackson River, fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout is a favorite activity while glamping here. There are many hiking trails, rivers, lakes, and Virginia State Parks close to this glamping site, too, including the Jackson River Trail, which is directly across the river from the accommodation and will lead glampers all the way to the Gathright Dam. Other areas of interest include Douthat State Park and the Jackson River/Kings Grant Property.

Also nearby are two well-known resorts in the area: Homestead Resort, which is approximately 20 miles north of the glamping site and features hot springs and a world famous golf course, and Greenbriar Resort, which is 25 miles west of the accommodation and is the host of the national PGA golf tournament during Fourth of July weekend.

Both resorts also offer horseback riding, falconry, guided fishing, boating, hiking, and tennis. Greenbriar Resort includes a full casino, too, and guest passes are available to glampers, as the hosts of this glamping rental are members of the Greenbriar Resort. Both Homestead and Greenbriar have on-site shopping, as well.
