Situated at the entry to a beautiful 250-acre farm retreat in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and only four miles from charming Lexington, this camping rental is created from chestnut logs and can sleep up to four guests. This rental was cabin was home for 14 years to a nationally known nature writer and professor. The rental sits above the confluence of two rivers, overlooks one of the four hay fields and is shaded by a centuries-old Spanish Oak tree. Guests will have everything reasonably possible already at the cabin so clothes, food, and personal items are all that is needed.
Guests will enjoy having kitchenware including, silverware, pots, pans, dishes and glasses. Guests will also have linens, four sleeping pillows and dish soap. Glampers will be provided with towels for a two to three-night stay. Essentials also include bath soap, hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Further essentials are offered including dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, hair dryers and basic condiments. This rental also offers up robes an iron and ironing board, a CD player and a DVD library.
Facilities include central heating and air-conditioning, as well as free parking, 24-hour check-in, and mobile reception. Guests will be supplied with spa robes, family style toiletries and very comfortable beds with quality bedding. Safety features included a first aid kit, fire extinguishers, and a smoke detector. outside, guests will find a 65-foot grapevine covered pergola, complete with a small fish pond and a sweet relaxing water fountain.
Downtown Lexington is but four miles away with several very good dining spots. In addition, there are standard chain restaurants only three miles away. All five log cabins and two of the three studios have a kitchen for ease of laid back grilling or eating at home.
The host here will offer guests a bottle of wine. If not interested in this gift on arrival, guests are asked to notify the host beforehand.
This property is located in Lexington, Virginia and situated on 250 acres of rolling Shenandoah farmland and nature preserve. From many places on the farm, guests will feast on the gorgeous and unlimited views. From the highest hilltop, Mount Grace, glampers will drink in an awe-inspiring 360-degree view of both the Alleghenies and the Blue Ridge Mountains spanning at least seven counties. This property offers tranquility and abundant wildlife. There are drop-jaw vistas from almost anywhere on the farm and the top of the farm has a beautiful hilltop, called Mount Grace.
Guests who stay here can explore all that the Shenandoah Valley has to offer including, the impressive Luray and Skyline Caverns, as well as the beautiful Mill Mountain Star and Park. This area also provides cultural activities including the Lee Chapel and Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. For hiking, biking and walking, the Chessie Nature Trail is a must visit. For those looking for a lovely nature walk, head to Boxerwood Garden, a 15-acre arboretum with copious amounts of diversity and beauty at every turn. For a bit of fun downtown, head to Hull's Drive-In Movie Theatre and enjoy a classic date night out. If guests are desiring a quiet change of pace, with a bit of country flavor, there are many places to sit and romantic places to enjoy right on the retreat. Guests can bask in the beauty with a glass of their favorite wine or perhaps even sit by a cozy fire in the cool of the evening.
The hosts ask that pets be kept off all furniture and bedding, and cleaned up after both indoors and out before leaving the property. The dog must not be left unattended without a kennel. This property does not charge a fee and the host only asks that guests work with them to keep the cabins ready for the next guests. Any damage, stains or additional cleaning will be charged an hourly fee, or replacement of damaged item.
Smoking is not allowed indoors and parties or loud music is not accepted.
Check-in is 3:00 pm or after and check-out in at 11:00 am. There is a maximum of two cars. No ATV's please.
