Historic Riverside Cottage Rental with Gourmet Breakfast near Harrisonburg, Virginia
Tucked away in the sprawling landscape of the Shenandoah Valley, this property is brimming with rich Civil War history and deep Virginia roots. Built in 1852, the cottage was first owned by a Confederate soldier who played a pivotal role in the Battle of New Market a few miles away. Throughout the centuries, the cottage has been sold, repurposed, and refurbished into the spectacular vacation home it stands as today, but with echoes of its rich past still lingering.
The riverside cottage bed and breakfast offers a cozy and quiet spot for guests to get away from it all. Guests can enjoy a tin roof and master bedroom with a screen-in porch overlooking the river, giving this northern Virginia cottage rental everything needed for an adventure getaway. The sounds of the river, amazing sunrises, and sunsets will have those who stay wishing they stayed longer. Guests are even served a delicious breakfast whenever they are ready in the morning.
Up to four guests will sleep comfortably in this cottage. The lower level master bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bath has an all season electric fireplace, skylights, a ceiling fan, and a private porch overlooking the Shenandoah River. The second loft bedroom, with another queen-size bed, has a private bathroom at the foot of the stairs.
The cozy living room joins the dining area and full kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and stove oven combination. Guests will have all the pots and pans they need to cook their favorite dishes. The river-view sunroom will be a great place to read the books, play games, or do the puzzles that are provided. Guests also have a Bose radio, television with a DVD, and plenty of movies to watch as they wish. Guests can cook out on the river stone terrace on a charcoal grill, with charcoal provided. Outside, glampers are within close proximity to the historical New Market, as well as Harrisonburg.
The cabin features central heat and window air conditioning, so those who stay will feel comfortable during their vacation. Guests are provided freshly cleaned linens, towels, and beach towels. Glampers have Wi-Fi throughout the cabin so they can remain connected during their stay.
Guests can also enjoy a gourmet breakfast served at their leisure, which they can enjoy in the cottage or on their terrace, consisting of juice, season fruit, eggs, pancakes, waffles, or French toast. All meals are made fresh every morning from locally-sourced ingredients. Special diets, such as vegan or vegetarian breakfasts, can be accommodated upon request.
