History buffs will love the area's rich colonial past. The property is close to the Jamestown Settlement, which is open year-round. This is the site of America's first English colony, and visitors can see exhibits, films, and re-creations, including a replica of one of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607. The city of Williamsburg also shares in this fascinating history and boasts many stunning 18th-century buildings.
Glampers in need of retail therapy can explore the shops in downtown Williamsburg, where they'll find stores selling everything from the latest fashion to antiques.
