Right across the street from the Red Haw State Park, visitors have access to just about every outdoor activity one can think of. The abundant hiking trails in the State Park will keep those seeking activity pleasantly entertained for hours. Not much of a hiker? Then depending on the season, ask about various hunting specials. However, if you're looking for a lazy afternoon then grab your fishing pole. Red Haw Lake and Lake Ellis are just a few minutes walk down the road down the road. If it starts to get a little warm then hop on in the lake and cool off.

The Chariton Town Square is another great tourist attraction that has additional shops and restaurants. If you're seeking a bit of history and culture then visit the many Amish Country Shops located throughout the county (ask the facility for best locations and deals). After all that hiking, fishing, swimming, and shopping, you may be ready for a refreshing drink. Head over to the Soda-Pop Saloon for a nice cool beverage. Stay a little later and hit the dance floor to show off some of your country moves.
