Some of the best hiking in Michigan is in the Grayling area, and come spring and summer, guests have miles and miles of trails to explore the surrounding area. The Mason Tract Pathway is 10 miles from the property, and it's a great moderate trail for guests of all ages. The Higgins Lake State Park is another great area nearby for hiking.

In the winter months, all these great hiking trails become fantastic cross-country skiing paths—guests can explore the woodlands with a fresh layer of snow covering the grounds. Should guests tire of hiking, they can get out on the water and enjoy a new perspective of the area. There are kayak and canoe rentals around the area where guests can rent equipment and get out on the Au Sable River.
