Woodland Park is a city in central Colorado, surrounded by the Pike National Forest that spans over 1.1 million acres and is known for its characteristic granite formations that gradients from pink to orange. Glamping near Woodland Park means you’re in for nice weather almost all year round, thanks to it’s location at 8,465 feet above sea level that gives “The City Above the Clouds,” the city’s nickname, blue skies when many of the surrounding cities have clouds or precipitation. Woodland Park makes a great vacation for families, as there are many educational opportunities for children here, from the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center and the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument to the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center. For our glamping fisherman, plan an outing to Manitou Lake, a scenic fishing spot. Hikers, bikers, and climbers will also gravitate towards luxury camping in Woodland Park, too, however, with its quick access to the aforementioned Pike National Forest.
