Secluded Vacation Rental with Fire Pit and Stunning Vistas in Livingston, Montana

Vacation Rental in Livingston, MT
8 guests • 3 bedrooms • 6 beds • 3 bathrooms
Welcome to the Vacation Rental!
The accommodation is part of our family retreat.
This is a family focused experience but great for a small group of friends out for a weekend getaway or a small corporate retreat with lots of space for focus.
The house is 1,660 sq. ft. and designed to accommodate two families with kids comfortably. The house works great for a multi-generational family, a bunch of friends or a couple looking to get away with space!
The house centers around the Family Room, a space built for entertainment and relaxation. Oriented due south, the room has 10’ tall windows that span the length of the room. A gas fireplace is tucked in the corner of the living area with a 65” television adjacent. The windows frame incredible views of Emigrant Peak and Dexter Point Peak, two iconic and hike-able summits. The open kitchen is designed to suit a cooking and entertaining experience. The dining area has seating for four at the island and a round table for four. A table for 8 is outside on the terrace under the heaters.
The house was designed to 'sit' into the landscape. The broad roof has been carefully designed to allow the natural sunlight and warmth to reach to the bedrooms and provide a deep sheltered porch. The north overhangs provides a large covered carport with space for two vehicles and a deep front porch with a couple adirondack chairs. On the south terrace, a table for eight, dual-fuel grill, a gas fire pit and lots of adirondack chairs provide an awesome entertaining space. You can sit on the lodge-like south terrace around the gas fire pit in the rain and snow, remain warm and dry, as you take in the view to the south towards Yellowstone National Park.
We are managing the property to increase biodiversity and biomass of the land. We have an ecological restoration plan to carefully improve the habitat for all species that share the acreage. Pronghorn are regular visitors; mule deer wander by and the elk occasionally bed down in our meadows. If you are lucky, you may catch a gray fox or badger ducking in and out of their dens. Bald eagles, osprey and golden eagles ride the thermal updrafts created by the geological bench and innumerable song birds flay about. Itis situated within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and we are doing all we can to support our local species from the smallest pollinators to the largest megafauna.

DRIVING:
Be careful driving through the Paradise Valley, especially in the dusk and dawn hours. Take your time on Highway 89- enjoy the view! Deer, antelope, elk, small mammals and livestock are regularly found along the road and crossing the road.
When arriving, stay to the right when the entry drive forks at the Long House. The Bunk House is just up the gentle incline, beyond the Long House and further down the entry drive.
Please drive slow on the entry drive.
BOOTS:
We ask all guests to kindly remove boots and shoes in the house. It is dusty out there, sometimes wet and muddy too- let's keep it outside. The floors are heated so you should be plenty comfortable in stocking feet.
WILDLIFE:
There is wildlife wandering around the valley and our 30 acres- mostly deer, elk, pronghorn and small mammals. DO NOT APPROACH any wildlife- they are wild. Please do not feed the wildlife. Please do not harass the wildlife in any way. Please observe animals from a distance. If an animal approaches the house, please stay inside until they wander off- if needed, make noise from inside the house to scare them off.
LIGHTS:
We have lots of outdoor lights to allow guests to see in the dark Montana night and welcome you back in the evening. However, the lights will impact the amazing stars and the amazing Montana stars. Please be sure to turn off exterior lights when you go to bed. Light pollution is a real concern in the valley and our dark skies allow everyone to see the amazing stars!
FIRE:
Fire is a concern, especially in the dry days of summer. The outdoor fire pits are there to enjoy but need to be managed very carefully. NEVER leave a fire pit or the fireplace unattended. NEVER build a fire above the edge of the pit. Please use the inside gas fireplace all you want but DO NOT leave the fireplace on overnight. Be aware, the fireplace in the house warms the house quickly and the heat rises to really warm up the loft spaces at night.
WINDOWS:
Many of the windows in the house are operable. Please open the windows and let the fresh Montana air in! Be careful to not leave windows open when you are not in the house or go out for the day- the critters like to find their way in!
WIND:
The house can get really windy! Be careful opening and closing doors in the wind- ALWAYS hang onto doors as you open and close them. On really windy days, use the front door, the terrace doors can be On really windy days, interior doors may slam if a window is open when an exterior door is opened. Do not leave exterior doors open, gusts of wind may come up and cause the heavy doors to slam in a dangerous way.
Please keep an eye on any trash outside. The wind will blow any bits of garbage a long way away and it can also hurt local animals if ingested.
SEPTIC SYSTEM:
We are on a septic system so we ask all guest to be very mindful of what goes down the drains.
