Lebanon

As the former home of the War Governor, the town of Lebanon was the focal point of Connecticut's contributions to the patriot cause, earning Lebanon its place in the history books as "the heartbeat of the Revolution." Even today the long history of the region is evident, in the charming architecture and unique town green - much of which is still in agricultural use. Head to the Lebanon Green Winery, Lebanon Historical Society Museum and Visitors Center, or the historic Trumbull House. For those who'd like to do something a little more adventurous, head to the lovely Mooween State Park for excellent hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, and much more. All of this a short drive from cities such as Hartford, Norwich, and New London.
