In summer, the clear, pristine waters of the lake are perfect for swimming and there is the opportunity for many other recreational activities such as canoeing, and kayaking. The lake is also excellent for fishing as the waters are populated by salmon, trout, whitefish, and bass.
The quiet gravel roads surrounding the lake are also perfect for hiking and biking, while in winter, glampers can enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing in the area. Glampers should also head to Baxter State Park for more hiking and climbing opportunities. Maine’s highest mountain, Mount Katahdin, is located within the park.
