With two beaches and a historical site within walking distance of the property, and with miles of shoreline, two rivers, 11 ponds, and 16 nature preserves in the surrounding area, guests will have no shortage of outdoor activity options.

For hiking, guests can explore nine miles of trails winding through 13 nature preserves maintained by the Pemaquid Watershed Association (WMA). Some of these trails and preserves also provide opportunities for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and fishing.

In addition to the WMA preserves, guests can also reconnect to nature at the Rachael Carson Preserve, the Dodge Point Preserve, and the Todd Wildlife Sanctuary (also known as the Todd Audubon Sanctuary). While exploring the four trails of the sanctuary, guests can also go birdwatching amid its forests and shoreline, which provide habitats to thrushes, nuthatches, warblers, ospreys, double-crested cormorants, and black guillemots.

Guests interested in water sports can go stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, row boating, sea kayaking, lake kayaking, and river kayaking on Johns Bay, Muscongus Bay, Boothbay Harbor, the Johns River, the Pemaquid River, Biscay Pond, and Pemaquid Lake. A variety of rentals, trips, and eco-tours are available through Maine Kayak, which also offers whitewater kayaking lessons on the Kennebec River and the Penobscot River.

To further explore Muscongus Bay, guests can go on cruises with Hardy Boat Cruises, which provides opportunities for seal watching, puffin watching, and eagle watching.

For swimming, guests can stroll over to Pemaquid Beach or Little Beach, or they can pedal or drive to the Bristol Mills Swimming Hole, which is four and a half miles away.

Guests interested in biking may rent bicycles from Maine Kayak, which can provide maps of routes to explore on the Pemaquid Peninsula.

For shopping and dining, guests can head to Damariscotta, which boasts a variety of shops, restaurants, and independent bookstores. Alternatively, they can visit the Cupboard Cafe, Harbor Room Restaurant, Pemaquid Co-op, The Contented Sole or Shaws Lobster Wharf Restaurant, which are within walking distance or very close by.

Other activity options include visiting the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site and Museum, the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park, and the Samoset Memorial.
