Glampers will fall in love with this authentic 18th-century farmhouse near Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The cottage is rich with rustic character and original features, but has been lovingly renovated to a fantastic standard, and includes many handy, modern amenities. Guests at this property can truly disconnect from everyday life, as there is no television, radio, or telephone, so it’s a perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with friends, family, and four-legged companions.
This historic cottage will comfortably accommodate up to 10 glampers. There are five elegantly decorated and pretty bedrooms, three on the first floor and two on the second floor. In total, there are six twin beds, one double bed, and one queen-size bed, making the cottage great for families or large groups. For guests’ convenience, there are two delightful, contemporary bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom was renovated in 2014 and features a walk-in shower, and the downstairs bathroom boasts a chic clawfoot bathtub, so there is plenty of room for everyone to freshen up, ready for the day ahead.
Inside, the cottage has antique pine floors and exposed beams. The living area features the original red-brick fireplace, and a wood-burning stove is the ideal focal point for chilly evenings. There’s plenty of comfortable seating space around the hearth for everyone to chat and enjoy some downtime. Next to the living area is a large, 10-seater dining table, made using wood from the host’s own trees, which is perfect for long, sociable meals and drinks.
A charming farmhouse-style kitchen provides a light and spacious place to prepare meals. There are cheerful yellow walls and bright, white counters and appliances. The decor is in keeping with the period of the cottage, but there's no shortage of handy, modern gadgets, such as a fridge, a freezer, an oven, a microwave, a coffeemaker, and a toaster. The kitchen area has incredible natural light, making it an enjoyable space to whip up a delicious family feast. The host has provided all the dishes and utensils guests will need.

There’s always something to see and do, as guests can watch the boats coming and going in the adjacent harbor, and can enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing from the dock. Keen fishermen can hope to catch mackerel and striped bass. Golfing enthusiasts can visit Boothbay Harbor Oceanside Golf Resort, which is seven minutes away, by car. The course is expertly designed, beautifully landscaped, and carefully maintained. Public access is available during May, June, September, and October. An array of water-based recreation is on offer in the area. From Boothbay Harbor, glampers can take dinner and party cruises, whale watching tours, and fishing trips. They can also rent their own boat to explore the region at a leisurely pace. The center of Boothbay Harbor boasts many great shops, where visitors can browse fashion, jewelry, crafts, quirky souvenirs, and much more. Foodies will be in their element in this neck of the woods. The area obviously has an amazing selection of seafood restaurants, but there are also cuisines from other parts of the world, such as Italian, Asian, and Spanish. Nature lovers will have a chance to spot some great wildlife here. The region is particularly superb for bird watching. The local islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins.
